Solution

Root Cause / Diagnostic:
When high-brightness external monitors and cameras share a single undersized battery plate, high current spikes cause momentary DC voltage sag. When camera and monitor draw peak power simultaneously, voltage dips below the camera's shutdown cutoff.

Actionable Fix:
1. Power high-draw monitors (1,000+ nits) from a dedicated secondary battery or use a high-discharge V-Mount battery rated for at least 10A / 150W.
2. Install an inline voltage regulator / buck-boost DC converter between the battery tap and camera to maintain a rock-solid 8.4V/12V output.
3. Monitor DC input voltage under peak load (monitor at 100% brightness while recording 4K/60p); confirm voltage never sags below 11.5V on 12V rails.

Pro Tip:
Use high-capacity 14.4V V-Mount batteries with dual independent D-Tap circuits to isolate monitor current spikes from camera power inputs.
