Screen lighting reflects into the subject's glasses, creating bright green shapes that survive as unwanted keyed remnants.

Problem

Screen lighting reflects into the subject's glasses, creating bright green shapes that survive as unwanted keyed remnants.

Solution

Root Cause / Diagnostic:
Curved spectacle lenses act as convex mirrors reflecting wide-angle ambient green light directly into the camera sensor. The chroma key software identifies these green reflections inside the frames as backing area, causing the talent's eyes to disappear into the background plate.

Actionable Fix:
1. Angle eyeglass temples slightly up off the ears (tilting lenses down 5-10 degrees) to redirect the specular reflection below camera axis.
2. Raise the green backdrop fill lights or reposition talent further forward so the reflection angle bypasses lens reflection vectors.
3. Zoom in 200% on the talent's eyes on a calibrated studio monitor while adjusting lighting angles to verify zero green reflection in glass surfaces.

Pro Tip:
Provide anti-reflective coated dummy frames or apply optician anti-glare spray to talent spectacles before rolling camera.
