Mounting a 70/30 beam-splitter teleprompter glass in front of the lens introduces internal optical reflections, refraction, and approximately 1 to 1.5 stops of light loss. The reduced transmission and dual-pane surface glare confuse phase-detection sensors and neural-network face/eye detection algorithms. As a result, the autofocus system repeatedly drops eye detection and defaults to sluggish contrast hunting.

Actionable Step-by-Step Fix:
1. Eliminate Teleprompter Back-Reflection: Install a light-tight black fabric hood around the lens barrel and teleprompter frame, ensuring zero ambient light enters behind the glass.
2. Boost Frontal Eye-Light Luminance: Position a dedicated soft eye-light fixture directly above the teleprompter to punch through the 70/30 glass and illuminate the presenter's irises.
3. Switch to Manual Focus with Distance Lock: Set the presenter at a fixed distance, use 10x manual focus magnification to lock focus on the pupil, and switch the lens to Manual (MF).
