Solution

Root Cause / Diagnostic:
The local OBS preview window renders raw canvas frames generated directly on the local GPU before video encoding and network transmission occur. Consequently, encoder frame drops, RTMP TCP socket retransmissions, server ingest packet loss, and platform transcoding artifacts never appear on the local screen.

Actionable Fix:
1. Configure Persistent Hardware-Decoded CDN Return Feed: Stream the live YouTube HLS/DASH feed onto a dedicated reference monitor using an external hardware player (e.g., Apple TV or Raspberry Pi running MPV).
2. Monitor OBS Stats Dock Continuously: Keep the OBS Stats Dock (View > Docks > Stats) permanently docked, monitoring "Frames missed due to rendering lag", "Frames dropped due to encoding lag", and "Dropped frames (network)".
3. Establish Chat-Triggered Health Triage Protocol: Assign an associate producer or chat moderator to ping the technical director immediately if chat messages report stuttering, robotic audio, or looping video.

Pro Tip:
Feed your off-air YouTube player through a dedicated audio loudness meter (such as Youlean Loudness Meter); this immediately reveals if YouTube's automated volume normalization (Sound Check / Mystery Normalizer) has severely compressed your audio levels.
