Problem
An NLE project database becomes corrupted after a forced shutdown during media indexing.
Solution
Root Cause / Diagnostic:
NLE project databases (such as DaVinci Resolve PostgreSQL databases or local SQLite project libraries) write dynamic transaction journals during media indexing and caching. If the workstation experiences a sudden power outage, force-quit, or kernel panic while the database is committing write operations, the database transaction table becomes corrupted. The NLE fails to parse the project library on relaunch, reporting project corruption or missing libraries.
Actionable Fix:
1. In DaVinci Resolve Project Manager, right-click the damaged Project Library, select 'Check Integrity', and execute 'Optimize Project Library'.
2. If corrupt, restore the project from the automated project backup timeline via Project Manager -> Restore Project Backup.
3. Connect the workstation to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) configured to initiate graceful system shutdowns during power outages.
