Solution

Root Cause / Diagnostic:
Screen replacements that composite synthetic graphics directly over an electronic device display completely overwrite the glass surface's native specular highlights, fingerprints, and environmental reflections. Because real glass surfaces possess high reflectivity, an opaque graphic without ambient room reflections looks flat, artificial, and electronically pasted over the physical prop.

Actionable Fix:
1. Extract the native screen reflection pass from the original footage using a high-pass luma key or 'Screen' / 'Lighten' blend mode on an isolated duplicate plate of the screen.
2. Layer the extracted reflection plate directly above the replaced screen graphic and set its blending mode to 'Add' or 'Screen', adjusting opacity between 25% and 40%.
3. Scrub through the take as the device moves to confirm that physical room glare, overhead lights, and finger smudges glide realistically across the synthetic screen content.

Pro Tip:
Place a subtle 1-2% curved glass gradient and a 0.5-pixel fresnel edge reflection along the device's beveled bezel to integrate synthetic screens seamlessly into physical smartphone frames.
