Text animation starts one frame late because the layer's in-point was moved after keyframes were created.

Problem

Text animation starts one frame late because the layer's in-point was moved after keyframes were created.

Solution

Root Cause / Diagnostic:
Trimming or slipping a layer's in-point in an NLE or compositor alters the layer's internal timebase relative to the sequence timeline. If keyframes were manually positioned at time zero of the sequence and the layer in-point was subsequently slipped by one frame, the initial keyframe becomes offset from the layer's head. Consequently, the layer displays its un-animated default state for the first frame before triggering the animation curve on frame two.

Actionable Fix:
1. Press U or expand layer keyframes, snap the playhead directly to the layer's new in-point ([ key), and align the initial keyframe to match the playhead exactly.
2. Alternatively, select all layer keyframes and use Alt/Option + Drag to snap the entire animation keyframe cluster to the new clip boundary.
3. Step frame-by-frame (Page Down / Right Arrow) from the edit cut to confirm that the transform or opacity curve engages precisely on the cut's first visible frame.

Pro Tip:
Construct text templates using marker-driven expressions or protected regions in Essential Graphics so that animations dynamically adapt to trimmed layer heads and tails without manual keyframe shifting.
