Essential graphics templates expose controls that do not actually update the linked animation properties.

Problem

Essential graphics templates expose controls that do not actually update the linked animation properties.

Solution

Root Cause / Diagnostic:
Essential Graphics properties decouple when underlying expression links are deleted, renamed, or assigned to duplicate parameter sliders in After Effects before export. If the Mogrt is compiled while properties are bound to intermediate nulls whose parent relationships were broken, the exposed user controls become orphaned. When an editor modifies the values in Premiere Pro, the parameter change registers in the UI but fails to propagate downstream to the render pipeline.

Actionable Fix:
1. Re-open the master .aep project and verify that each control in the Essential Graphics panel links directly to active layer transform properties or Expression Controls.
2. Delete orphaned parameter mappings in the Essential Graphics panel and drag fresh pick-whip references from the active composition layers.
3. Export an updated .mogrt package, re-import it into Premiere Pro, and verify that adjusting the slider changes the visual render immediately on the timeline.

Pro Tip:
Always group Essential Graphics controllers into descriptive parameter folders in After Effects and test each control inside Premiere Pro's Essential Graphics edit tab before deploying templates across team shared drives.
