Tracked color corrections jump when the tracking feature temporarily disappears behind an object.
Solution
Root Cause / Diagnostic:
Planar and point trackers rely on persistent optical pattern recognition. When an obstacle (such as a microphone boom, passing foreground actor, or hand) temporarily occludes the tracked feature, the tracking algorithm calculates false motion vectors based on the occluding object. The tracked color correction window abruptly jumps across the frame, leaving the intended target uncorrected and applying weird color grades to the foreground object.
Actionable Fix:
1. Stop the tracker immediately before the occlusion occurs, switch to manual frame-by-frame tracking, and hold or manually interpolate coordinates across the occluded frames.
