Fake support representatives request remote-desktop access as part of a supposed channel recovery process.

Problem

Fake support representatives request remote-desktop access as part of a supposed channel recovery process.

Solution

Root Cause / Diagnostic:
Scammers masquerading as technical support engineers or platform security specialists convince panicked creators to install remote desktop software (TeamViewer, AnyDesk) under the pretext of "fixing account errors". Once remote access is granted, the attacker immediately uses the creator's logged-in browser session to transfer channel ownership, export session cookies, or inject malicious scripts. This social engineering tactic completely bypasses all password and MFA protections.

Actionable Fix:
1. Mandate a zero-tolerance policy: NEVER grant remote desktop or screen control access to any external entity claiming to represent YouTube, Google, or software support.
2. Configure workstation endpoint management policies (AppLocker/MDM) to block the download, installation, and execution of unauthorized remote control software.
3. If an unauthorized remote connection is initiated, immediately sever physical network connectivity (unplug Ethernet, toggle Wi-Fi off) and force an immediate hard shutdown of the machine.

Pro Tip:
Google and YouTube technical support personnel will NEVER request remote desktop access to a creator's computer; any request to install AnyDesk or TeamViewer is an absolute indicator of an active scam.
