Channel administration and general web browsing occur on the same high-risk production machine.

Problem

Channel administration and general web browsing occur on the same high-risk production machine.

Solution

Root Cause / Diagnostic:
Conducting administrative channel operations (uploading, revenue management, settings configuration) on the same machine used for general web surfing, gaming, and downloading external files elevates exposure to drive-by exploits and browser cookie theft.

Actionable Fix:
1. Hardware Separation of Duties: Establish a strict hardware isolation protocol: maintain one dedicated, hardened device for channel administration, and separate machines for daily content production and general browsing.
2. Virtual Machine / Sandbox Browsing: If secondary hardware is unavailable, conduct all general web browsing and file downloading inside isolated virtual machines (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware) or browser sandboxes.
3. Administrative Machine Lockdown: Restrict the administrative device to essential management domains, disabling all third-party downloads and gaming platforms.

Pro Tip:
Buy a cheap, separate Chromebook or laptop that you ONLY use for logging into your YouTube channel and managing uploads. Do your everyday web browsing, discord chats, and gaming on a completely different PC.
