Solution

Root Cause / Diagnostic:
Lack of physical inventory isolation allows suspect or intermittently failing memory cards to re-enter production rotation. Because intermittent read/write errors are often temperature- or workload-dependent, an untested card appears fine during quick staging, only to fail during live production.

Actionable Fix:
1. Physical "Dead Bin" Quarantine: Establish a distinct, locked quarantine bin labeled "SUSPECT / RETIRED" in the gear room for any media exhibiting errors.
2. Serial Number Tracking Manifest: Maintain a shared hardware inventory spreadsheet logging card serial numbers, purchase dates, firmware, and error history.
3. Pre-Production Bench Test: Subject all returning media to a full-capacity write/read verification cycle using `F3` or `H2testw` before releasing them back into active camera packages.

Pro Tip:
The second a card throws an error on set, take a black permanent marker, draw an 'X' across the label, and throw it in your quarantine bin; never give a glitchy card a second chance.
