Using automated content-aware fill, Gaussian blur boxes, or clone stamps to obscure burned-in platform watermarks destroys local spatial variance. When the destination platform re-encodes the video, its motion estimation and macroblock compression algorithms treat the localized blurry rectangle as low-entropy flat space, producing prominent blocky artifacts that draw viewer eyes straight to the obscured area.

Actionable Fix:
1. Discontinue all post-render watermark blurring workflows in favor of rendering clean, unbranded source masters directly from the NLE project.
2. If forced to re-crop legacy footage, execute an intentional optical scale-and-reframe (e.g., 112% zoom) to physically push the watermark outside the 1080x1920 canvas.
3. Visually inspect the modified quadrant under 200% magnification on an sRGB calibrated display to verify uniform grain and luminance continuity.

Pro Tip:
Blur patches trigger viewer skepticism and lower retention faster than the watermark itself; if a clean master does not exist, punch in on the footage cleanly rather than applying an artificial Gaussian blur mask.
